Colleen Patrick-Goudreau

The 2010 Walk for Farm Animals, Berkeley, is proud to have author Colleen Patrick-Goudreau as our guest speaker. A sought-after and inspiring public speaker on the spiritual, social, and practical aspects of a vegan lifestyle, Colleen is the author of three cookbooks (The Joy of Vegan Baking, The Vegan Table, and Color Me Vegan) the host of the award-winning podcast Food for Thought, a columnist for VegNews Magazine, a contributor to National Public Radio, and has appeared on the Food Network. She is very grateful to have the opportunity to witness transformations taking place in people as they gain the tools and resources they need to reflect their values in their daily choices.

Colleen will be speaking at 12:30 during the October 16th Walk and will have books available for purchase and signing.  A portion of proceeds will go to Farm Sanctuary’s rescue, education and advocacy efforts.

Tips on How to Raise Donations:

10 simple ways to help raise funds and collect donations

1.) Set a signature on your outgoing emails that states you are raising money for Farm Sanctuary and includes your FirstGiving link

2.) Post your FirstGiving link to Facebook, MySpace, twitter or other social networking sites or blog about the Walk

3.) Ask just 10 friends to donate $10 each

4.) Put $1 in an envelope every day from now until the Walk and/or empty out your coin jar

5.) If you know a vegan business owner or artist ask if they can make a donation to our silent auction

6.) Inquire as to whether your employer has a corporate matching program for your donations or if they would like to sponsor the event ( our Walk still needs a sponsor)

7.) Host a fundraising party at your place- serve simple snacks and drinks and leave out a donation jar

8.) Have a garage sale and donate the proceeds to your Walk

9.) Invite two friends to register to walk with you- more walkers mean more visibility and more funds raised for the animals

10.) Simply tell friends and family you are walking. So many people would be happy to sponsor you if you just let them know what Farm Sanctuary does and how you are helping

Join us!

Come on out and join us as we raise money and awareness for Farm Sanctuary  during our annual Walk for Farm Animals. For more than 20 years, Farm Sanctuary’s nation-wide Walk has been a great opportunity to raise awareness of the treatment of factory farm-raised animals and has generated vital funds for rescue, education and advocacy work.

This widely-promoted and publicized event broke records in 2009 with almost 70 cities hosting Walks and raised over $330,000 for Farm Sanctuary. The Bay Area Walk brought in the 4th largest amount of money in 2009 but let’s kick some cruelty-free butt, Bay Area and help us raise $20,000 for Farm Sanctuary this year to bring us back into the top 3!!!!

This year’s walk promises to be bigger and better than ever featuring live entertainment, prizes and a silent auction loaded with all sorts of cruelty-free goodies! The walk is easy and just under an hour in length.
